Annalisa Berns, owner of Pet Search and Rescue and Investigations, dreamed of working with animals from a young age. She found her life’s work when she read Kat Albrecht’s book, “The Lost Pet Chronicles.” She is passionate about educating people about how to bring their lost pets home. Annalisa works one to two Search Dogs on lost pet cases and specializes in consultations to coach people how to find their lost pets. She has trained with K-9 Search and Rescue, expert dog trainers and volunteer K-9 Sheriff Search and Rescue. She focuses her studies on animal tracks, lost pet behavior, crime scene investigation, search management techniques and advanced urban trailing. She has completed the President’s DNA Initiative and received a certificate of completion in “Crime Scene and DNA Basics for Forensic Analysts.” She was a guest speaker at the Western States Veterinary Association twice and the American Veterinary Medical Association conference.

Jim Berns uses his knowledge of animal tracking and animal behavior helps train people to find their own pets. He works with Samantha, a smart Hound mix. He primarily covers areas in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. However, Jim is willing to travel further to help find lost pets. Jim works hard when searching for a lost pet, and helps to recover many lost pets. Jim has been helping to search for lost pets about 8 years.

Susan Long uses her investigative knowledge and police background to help find lost pets. She is tenacious when it comes to finding lost furry family members, and has an extreme attention to detail. She works a team of two dogs that include a husky named Sailor and a dachshund mix named Tracker, who is the perfect size for tight spots. Susan primarily covers areas in Texas and the Southern Region of the United States, but is available to travel further to help find lost pets. Susan worked in law enforcement for over 20 years and worked her first lost pet case in 2008 with Pet Search and Rescue before taking time off to focus on family. She has been a Private Investigator in the State of California for over 10 years. She is back to help people find their lost pets!
